1925 Fire Engine

The Story of our 1925 Fire Engine
If you walk through Virginia Highland on the weekends, you may notice a new face at Fire Station 19. In early June a 1925 American LaFrance Fire Engine took up residence and made its public debut during the Virginia Highland festival. Finding such a rare specimen is tough. Finding one that actually runs - almost impossible.

Ian Allum, a 22-year veteran of the Atlanta Fire Department, saved the vintage engine from a dusty garage in Indianapolis and brought it to Altanta and Station 19. The engine had been in service in Ohio.

This engine is representative of the truck you see on the home page pulling out of Station 19 in Atlanta in the late 1920’s.
